Thinking Independently in November

Grant yourself the freedom of independent thinking!

Last month, I enjoyed teaching the Time to Think Foundation of Facilitation course  where we explored how a group can turn into a Thinking Environment with grace and grit and reclaim quality, independent thinking.

And throughout these two days, the group discovered how even with a limited amount of time, we could collectively foster deep breakthroughs and “gain time” doing so- the graal of our time!

If you haven’t taken this course yet, check this calendar featuring one daily reflection or question to start or sustain your thinking practice! Download the high resolution (and printable) PDF version here.

For those of you who want to know more about what kind of gift becoming a Thinking Environment is, check Sara Calvo’s findings:

I’ve just completed a fantastic two-day session on the Thinking Environment, and it was a truly life-changing experience! I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn about this powerful approach. Here are some of the key highlights from my learning:

Attention as a Gift: I learned that giving someone your undivided attention, without interruptions, is one of the most profound ways to show respect and create space for deep thinking.

Equality in Conversations: Every voice matters. Creating an environment where everyone has equal opportunity to share their thoughts leads to richer, more inclusive discussions.

Encouragement over Competition: Instead of fostering competitive thinking, encouraging others to express their ideas without fear promotes innovation and growth for all participants.

Ease and Composure: Bringing a sense of calm and ease into discussions helps reduce stress and allows for more thoughtful, considered responses. It's amazing how this subtle change can transform group dynamics.

Assumption Shifting: Challenging our assumptions opens up entirely new possibilities. In the Thinking Environment, we explore underlying assumptions that may limit thinking, which leads to fresh insights and creative solutions.

Diversity of Perspectives: Valuing the diversity of experiences and perspectives contributes to a much broader understanding of any issue. The Thinking Environment creates space for this diversity to flourish.

The Power of Silence: Silence is not a void but a space for deeper reflection. Allowing moments of silence encourages people to think more deeply and come up with more considered responses.

and finally ... Appreciation:
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Servane Mouazan ICF PCC ACTC for her guidance and wisdom throughout this transformative journey. Her expertise in the Thinking Environment has opened up a whole new perspective for me, one that I’m excited to carry forward in both my personal and professional life. Thank you for creating such a safe and insightful space to learn and grow.
